My dear friend Erin is here visiting. She got here last Friday, on the 27th. Here are some pictures we took with Linda wandering around Glasgow.
This was the third day Erin was here I think..... Anyway, Here is me taking off my wheely shoes to drink some tea at Tchai Ovna, a Czech (?) tea house in the West End. They make really really good chai, and delicious Mediterranean foodstuffs. We sat in the "zen room" so we had to take off our shoes.

Erin and Linda are disaffected youth.

Taking pictures and pointing at our tea, and kiddie tables.

NOW ITS VIDEO TIME! I wish I could say it was something more interesting. I took a video because looking up at this building with the clouds moving made it look like it was gonna fall on me. I freaked out so bad, as seen in this picture, by Linda:

I was so freaked out I had to take a video. You can't see the effect in the video, but its cool anyway. In the background you can hear Linda and Erin talking about getting their pockets picked: safety tips from moms.
Anyway, there were some really cool architecture things in that area too.

These are in Kelvingrove Park. The flowers blooming of their own volition was enough to baffle Erin and me, being Colorado natives and all. Those are a bunch of ol' crocus-ohs.

Here is a sweet statue, presented to Scotland by some Amurikan dude. When we asked "What does the peacock represent, I wonder?" and someone said "Maybe England?" my response, that I still don't know what I meant by it, was, "I sure hope so." There ya go, England.

Fountain!

KGB!

More disaffected youth at the skate park! Look at those little kids!

Alright, here is where it gets weird.
So this weekend I am going to London, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Also, I have three papers due, one on Friday (today) and two on Monday. Not only had I not started them as of last Sunday, I now had limited time, to get all of those done, since I wanted to finish them before London.
I managed to slam one down in the matter of a few days. Until I realized I needed 300 more words and, therefore, a couple more sources. In addition to the other two, it was time for MARATHON PAPER WRITING!!!!!!
Now at home, I have a very specific habit for paper writing, especially in such short time. This involves a particular outfit. This one:

Hot. I am not afraid to put unflattering pictures of myself on the internets. This outfit includes, a big band tshirt, short shorts, long socks, slippers, and my hair pulled back. I put this on, first stage of paper writing complete.
I then cleaned off my desk, meaning I piled everything on my bed. This serves the dual function of having a semi-clear desk for books to be spread about on, AND it discourages me from climbing into bed and giving up.

Phase 2, taken care of.
Food and water!!! Here pictured, water, tea (I had 6 cups of Lady Grey) and a Honduran Chicken salad curry thing. Yum!

PHASE 3! DELICIOUS!
My computer, headphones, and painkillers, for later on in the afternoon.

Phase 4, powered up for action.
It was then that I realized I was missing a key element of my outfit. A BIG COMFY SWEATSHIRT!!!!! I usuall wear one of Brace's/Danny's. I have two other sweatshirts, but they are more zip-up look somewhat presentable type endeavors. I needed something I could coccoon up in. So I got this!!! It says University of Glasgow.

Amendment to phase 1, very comfy. A nice addition, I think.
It was also cool that it was so pretty out. It snowed a little while after this picture was taken. It provided a nice atmosphere.

And then it was that I wrote 2 big research papers in the matter of 10 hours, with a few breaks and distractions! I have one more to finish, but I am almost halfway through, so it should be alright. WOO! Some of you may think this is goofy, or a joke, but I am serious. Brace probably would find this hilarious. I gotta get comfy and into it, otherwise I can't write papers. I enjoy schoolwork, and sitting at the library all fidgety and uncomfortable makes me hate it. I want to keep liking it.
Anyway, now I should sleep because I have a big day of training it up to London and staying in hostels and seeing as much as I can in such a short time.
Happy Birthday today Daniel! And Happy Birthday tomorrow Grey!!! BIG 16 WOOOOO!
Peace out, girlscouts!

Good to see the writing wardrobe out and being used. Now I know you'll be getting good grades. I knew you had those socks on all week!!! Love the new sweatshirt! I want one, maybe I'll get one if I get over there.
ReplyDeleteI laughed really hard at the awesome writing wardrobe--whatever works sista! Can't wait to see your next blog and understand London from your perspective.
ReplyDeleteLove love love the "paper writing" outfit. I had one in college too but definitely not to your dynamics. Yours is definitely in true CharLee fashion, hehe!
ReplyDeleteOMG - Grey is 16 and Dan is 31... Where did the time go... Miss ya
