March 21st. Brace gets to Glasgow, I go pick him up at the train station.

WELCOME TO GLASGOW BEBOP! He was very sleepy, but toughed out the whole day. We even got all dressed up and went to the orchestra that evening. It was fun, but I could tell he was struggling to stay awake.

We went to Kelvingrove Museum. He took these pictures.

Spitfire, and various animals.

The Giant Irish Deer. Awesome.
Next day we went to Stirling.
This is Church of the Holy Rude. We couldn't get inside. It was just as beautiful on the outside though.

Picture taking time.

Assessing the situation.

Big ol' pyramid in the graveyard around the church, and a crow.

That's John Knox in the middle, preaching fire and brimstone and stuff.

Then to the castle. Check out the rainbow.

Tapestry in the chapel. They made this the old fashioned way, based on the tapestries that once hung in the castle. I think they said this one took 2-3 years for several artists working everyday, two at a time. Whoa!

Part of the castle.

Surveying the landscape.

We didn't make it to the wallace monument, because it was too late in the day. We did walk all over town though.

We are so cute. awwwww.

Train station heading back home.

Next day, Glasgow Cathedral and the Necropolis!
Stained glass and such in the Cathedral.

Cathedral from outside.

Walking to the Necropolis (City of the Dead)

This graveyard is massive. I tried to capture the scale, but this doesn't do justice to its magnitude.

Later that night! Drinks! Hot chocolate + Orange flavoured Irish Cream = magic.

The next day we went to the transportation museum, after I went to class. This is the only picture I took, and it was for Erin. So here ya go, buddy!

Next day we went to St Andrew's in Fife. Quaint! I thought the town was very pretty.
'Walking up to the cathedral.
It's magnificent, even though it is almost all fallen down. It would have been massive.

Very impressed.

Yet another graveyard.

Other remains of the cathedral.

Sea, plus pool of the castle. People used to go swimming in that rectangle of water. Cute.

Storming the castle. I don't know why I didn't get more pictures.

Enjoying a beer in an absurd glass in St. Andrews.

Next day in Edinburgh. Edinburgh Castle! We spent most of our time in the war/military museum.

The museum in Edinburgh. GRAMOPHONE! So beautiful.

And we finally found Brace a deep fried mars bar. Delicious. (Mars bar = milky way)

We enjoyed them much.

Next day I had class and we were sleepy. We went to the two museums on my campus, the Hunterian Art and regular museum. Dr Hunter collected a lot of stuff and then gave it to the University. The museums were really cool.
Then we went to get Brace fish and chips. Somehow he had gotten it twice before but both times the fish was breaded, like a big fishstick. This has never happened to me. We went to get him some real, battered, delicious fish. Here is him reveling in the experience.

Next day we were off to Dublin! WHOA!
Here is where we got dropped off in the city center.

He looks thrilled!
The spire. Big ol thing, made it easy to find our hostel, since it was close by.

First meal, where we got "Irish Fare"

That night we watched the Ireland football game in a pub in Ireland and drank Irish beer. It was expensive, but fun.
Next day we went exploring. Here is a weird statue.

The river Liffey.

Dublin Castle.

More Dublin Castle.

We snuck onto a tour and heard some stuff. They led us to Christ Church.

We wandered to St. Patricks.

We decided to try to find the museum with Viking stuff, and we went to the wrong museum, and then ended up having to rush to the other side of town and finally got there to discover that the museum was closed. DANG! it was still really cool though. we got to see bog bodies and stuff.
Delicious crepes.

Sweet graffiti

Next day we wandered around some more. We saw the Book of Kells, an ornamentational illuminated bible from the 9th century. SO COOL! we also saw the national print museum, and went to the Docklands.
Walking along the river.

Famine sculpture.

view across the river.

In our favorite cafe we went to three times. It was one of the only reasonably priced places that we could find. I am sure he loves when I take pictures up his nose.

Then we made it back to Glasgow!
That brings us up to yesterday. We decided to walked down to the Clyde River and the tallship, the Glenlee, with Linda, Alyssa, and her friend Maria. We got chips and cheese, fish and chips, and yet another fried mars bar.
Here is a cool tunnel.

On the Glenlee. BELL!

Masts and rigging.

I'm the captain. Obvs.

Nice photography a la Bebop.

Feets! In the botanical gardens.

The end.

My heart broke having to tell him goodbye again this morning. Poor guy is currently stuck in Newark, since the weather in Denver is apparently inclement. Let's all hope he gets home soon, and safe. I've been sad and crying all day. I'll be seeing him soon, I suppose, but that doesn't mean I don't miss him like crazy.
Now it is time pack, because I am going to Paris with Linda tomorrow. Woo!
